Cuban Missile Crisis

The closest thing to a nuclear war that happened in 1962, was the cuban missile crisis. It turns out, that Soviet missiles were being put under construction in Cuba. President Kennedy had our American U2 planes fly over cuba to see what was going on, and we endedd up seeing the worst. After finding out about the missiles and seeing the pictures, Kennedy decided to do a naval quarantine around Cuba. On the 25th, Kennedy pulled the quarantine line back to try to ease tension. Finally, the tenions eased up because Khrushchev said he would remove the Soviet missiles from Cuba and bring them back to the Soviet union, as long as the US promised not to invade Cuba.
